Last friday, january 29, it happened really something unexpected: I was witness at the wedding. Arezoo and Kaveh were married. Kaveh is a new member of the diaspora from Iran, after the heavy demonstrations in Tehran last summer. Arezoo left Iran many years ago and now she is living in Canada. So, when by chance you are stuck in a country for reasons of visa, it's possible that you need to marry whenever and wherever it is possible. So, by chance, they were married here in Istanbul. And now they are already far apart but Kaveh will hopefully join Arezoo soon.

I met Kaveh a few months ago. We know what it means to leave a country behind. But of course I am luckier than him, the opponents in Italy are not executed by hanging and I can go back to Italy whenever I want.
Meanwhile, in these days "our" 2 roosters, respectively the president of Iran and the premier of Italy, are fulling the sky of Middle East with their threats. It's comic, isnt' it?
We are here in Istanbul because of them and they are disputing each other. We are hoping every day they will soon fall and they are even making the world more dangerous because of their animal istincts.
But what about if one day we will discover that simply they were two mad men with serious problems? Who will take the responsability of what they are causing? For example, a few days ago one of the most famous italian journalist, Giuseppe D'Avanzo, wrote that the italian premier is separating "legitimacy from legality". We were writing this on this blog almost 2 years ago. Meanwhile I left the country. " Lost is that State which no longer distinguishes between criminals and honests", said Antisthenes. And moreover, "Not according to laws the wise man rules, but according to virtues".
Today I will fly to Antalya, in the deep South of Turkey. On saturday I will have a concert there with "Kara Güneş". I will be back on monday. And, by the way, my turkish musical adventure surprised me recently. Dj Ipek made a compilation called "Beyond Istanbul 2" and there's a picture (although small as a part of a collage) on the frontpage of me and Tunc's group after a concert in Austria last spring. So, for the friends living in Germany, you can go and search for the cd and look out.
Everything I could imagine, but to witness a wedding and be shown on a german turkish compilation..
